I was born in St Mary’s Hospital in Manchester in 1958, spending my early years in a mother and baby home in Davyhulme. Later I lived in Chorlton cum Hardy but in total I have only spent about six of my 66 years living in the city.
However I did spend all of my secondary school years in Manchester and also the majority of my youth and teenage years were spent enjoying the nightlife and gigs that were on offer.
Having lived most of my life in Stockport I have mainly been in denial about the fact that I am indeed a Mancunian.
This collection of poetry is a reflection of my personal memories and opinions of the city of my birth along with my take on some of the events that have happened here and the quirky traits of the people that make the city so special.
Transient: – Lasting only for a short time; impermanent.
